Gintoki's group goes to take back a house for a man who's been conned. || Gintoki manage to escape Shishimura’s sudden attack. Regrouping with Kagura and the others, he finds that their client Katoken was unable to stick with the training and has left. Gintoki finds Katoken drowning in his sorrows alone and joins him for a drink to share his wisdom: “No matter how much you try, you cannot escape from what you truly wish to forget.” Hearing those words, Katoken explains the reason behind his wanting to become stronger. Gintoki decides to lend a hand to help Katoken regain his most important treasure. Together with Kagura and Shinpachi, they march into the Drift Star Embassy… only to find themselves welcomed by a mountain full of food.

Barely conscious, the postman begs the Odd Jobs Trio to deliver an important package in his place. Gintoki and the others reluctantly head to the address on the package, Embassy of Inui, the Dog Star system. But the package explodes, and the trio are mistaken as terrorists. The three attempt a hasty escape, but when Shinpachi is caught, he decides to take Gintoki and Kagura down with him, and the gatekeepers quickly corner the three. Just when everybody thinks they are done for, they are saved by Gintoki’s old acquaintance Kotaro Katsura, aka Zura. Secretly observing the whole incident, the government’s police force, the Shinsengumi, decides to make their move…

A man tries to break out of jail, to attend a pop star's concert. || Although their actions result in saving everyone from Katsura’s bomb, Gintoki and the group are nonetheless held for police questioning. Convinced Odd Jobs Gin are behind the bombing, the police continue their interrogation, when Shinpachi, who was staring at the clock the whole time, finally snaps. Baffled by his raging fit, the police finally let the trio go. Ignoring Gintoki and Kagura who vent their resentment in front of the police station, Shinpachi leaves the scene in a hurry. Left behind, Gintoki and Kagura come across an escaped convict being chased by the police. The man takes Kagura hostage and orders Gintoki to take the wheel in the police car. When asked by Gintoki why he ran away the man answers, “Because today is a special day…”

The group is hired to find an amanto alien prince's pet. || Midland Star Prince Hata’s pet Pes disappears, and the Immigration Bureau, though resentful of the Amanto’s orders, ask Odd Jobs Gin to look for the missing pet. Hearing that the client is an Amanto, the Odd Jobs at first turn down the offer but quickly change their minds when they are presented with a stack of cash. So begins Gintoki and group’s hunt for the pet. Looking for any kind of lead, the group makes the rounds of the octopus fisherman at the piers, takoyaki stores, and bars, but Pes is nowhere to be found. With few options left, Gintoki brings out his ultimate weapon.

To make matters worse, Kondo’s miserable loss is aired on TV, forcing Hijikata to figure out some way to gain back the Shinsengumi’s dignity. The trio helps an old man to track down a woman whom he met when he was young. Shown as a one hour special with episode 12. || Gintoki and Kagura visit Shinpachi in the hospital after a car accident. Even in the hospital the Odd Jobs Trio is noisy as usual. An old man in the next room overhears their conversation and asks for their help. He requests that they look for a woman from the old man’s bittersweet memories. The only lead they have is a kanzashi, and that the kanzashi’s owner worked at a Dango shop. The Odd Jobs Trio begin their search but find that nobody seems to remember the Dango shop, and they quickly reach a dead-end. Kagura tries having Sadaharu trace the scent from the kanzashi, and the place Sadaharu leads them to is not at all what they expected…

Otose comes to take a liking to the hard-working and considerate Catherine. The Odd Jobs Trio on the other hand find themselves under a tighter budget and constant hunger thanks to Kagura’s hearty appetite. Meanwhile, a string of robberies occur in the downtown district. One day, the police make a visit to the Otose Snack House to gather any information regarding the recent robberies.

Reluctantly accepting the client’s wish to settle the case quietly, the Odd Jobs Trio goes to gather information at a club where the girl was often sighted. Unable to get any useful leads and tired of looking, Kagura tries to nab a man who looks similar to the girl, when the man’s condition suddenly changes. Several antiforeigner factions use this opportunity to take down high government officials who profited from their illegal drug collusion with pirates and Amantos. The Shinsengumi is ordered to provide protection for the officials. Kondo unquestioningly carries out his duty, claiming that if it weren’t for the government the Shinsengumi wouldn’t be where it is today. But the members cannot hide their frustration toward the corrupt Amanto and government officials. Amidst all of this, Kondo is shot down by the antiforeigner faction, taking the hit intended for a frog Amanto they were assigned to protect. That’s when Katsura shows up with a peculiar creature. Seems this thing is a gift from the space merchant Sakamoto and is called Elizabeth. Gintoki is surprised at the fact that Katsura, who supposedly hates space creatures, would keep such a pet. Then Gintoki and the gang learn that a TV show is looking for weird animals to appear on their show. Blinded by the grand prize given to the winner, Gintoki and the gang decide to participate.

Since he was fired from the Immigration Bureau after punching Prince Hata on a passing whim, Hasegawa now walks down the path of a Dumb Old Retarded Kook, DORK for short. Ordered by his superior to commit seppuku, Hasegawa returns home to pack up and skip town only to find his wife has already left, saying she can’t deal being with a DORKH (Dumb Old Retarded Kook Husband). Having lost everything, the only friend Hasegawa has now is Gintoki, whom he met at the pachinko parlor.

A rebel plans to asssinate the shogun during a festival. || The Kabukicho Neighborhood Association, led by Otose, marches toward the doorstep of Edo’s No. 1 inventor, Gengai Hiraga. The association has had it with Gengai’s noisy building of useless junk. Recruited by Otose, the Odd Jobs Trio fights sound with sound by blasting music from their karaoke machine but are stopped by the sudden appearance of the robot Saburo. The Odd Jobs Trio then proceed to relocate Gengai’s workshop to the nearby riverbank, only to end up breaking Saburo and the other robots created by Gengai, who were to perform for the shogun at the upcoming festival. Meanwhile a dangerous man has set foot into Edo.

But what awaits Shinpachi is a deadly naginata swing by the raged Otae. While Shinpachi narrowly dodges the attack, Stefan falls prey to the naginata. As she tears Stefan apart, Otae explains the reason behind her fit. It appears the panty thief who’s recently been stirring things up in Edo city stole her panties. More than half of the team falls victim to the ghost, each muttering about a woman dressed in red. Frightened by the unseen danger, Kondo decides to hire an exorcist to handle the situation. When Gintoki and Kagura fight over and break the Senpuki (fan), their only means of dealing with the heat, Gintoki reluctantly heads out to buy a new one – only to run into extreme difficulties. Every store tells him they no longer sell an obsolete product like the fan and recommends buying an AC instead, which is beyond Gintoki’s budget. Finally, Gintoki comes across a recycled goods shop called the “Earth Defense Army Base.” Upon entering the store, he finds himself embroiled with the female store owner’s battle to protect the “Senpuki (???)"…?!

Insisting on bringing Sadaharu with her, Kagura starts arguing with the staff while Sadaharu goes off to harass a man with shades sleeping at the departure lobby. Curiously, the man disappears into the crowd without noticing the giant animal biting at his head. Carrying the Odd Jobs trio, the space ship sets off, but a group calling themselves the “Moe Fighting Sprits” shows up to hijack the ship…

But their true intentions are to draw away the others’ attention and eat as much meat as possible from the sukiyaki meal before them. Trying to read each other’s next moves, Gintoki and Shinpachi successfully trick Kagura and chow down, only to spill the pot all over the place. Realizing she’s been tricked, Kagura begins arguing with Gintoki. Amidst this gloomy atmosphere Shinpachi believes that in order to avoid another messy tragedy, it is imperative to secure the meat’s safety first. The only one who’s working seriously, Shinpachi cannot help but sigh at his friends’ incompetence when he notice a punk trying to shoplift some goods. When Shinpachi catches the thief, he realizes it is Takachin, his childhood friend back from temple school. Ever since the day Shinpachi betrayed his trust, Takachin became a target for bullying. But now Takachin claims to be feared since joining a team called the “Bulldogs.” To save his friend from walking down the wrong path, Shinpachi breaks into the “Maltese” gathering.

Okita also happens to be there, and leads the trio down to the slums where they discover an underground coliseum called the “Rengokukan.” Investigating the high authorities’ support for these death matches, Okita points out Kidomaru, Rengokukan’s deadliest fighter in a demon mask, suggesting the Odd Jobs may find out something from following him. A police department head official brings Kondo to a meeting to discuss the incident happened at the Rengokukan. || On the morning astrology program Ms. Ketsuno declares with a smile that “Virgos with goatees who are brushing their teeth right now will die today...” Kondo, who was watching the show while brushing his teeth, can’t help but let out a wry sigh when Matsudaira thunders in, blasting away with his gun – the Shinsengumi’s involvement with the Rengokukan has come to light, and both are summoned to the castle. Baffled by Hijikata and Okita’s impulsive actions, Kondo enters a state of panic after learning he may be assassinated before arriving at the castle. Matsudaira, who now sees everything as possible assassins, summons Sachan as a counter measure to assassins. Hence the dangerous drive to the castle begins...

Part 2 - Space cockroaches terrorize the town. || Part 1: “Star Destroyer,” the enchanted sword that can even cut through stars – searching for this legendary weapon, one man goes on a sword hunt night after night. The man’s name is Gankeimaru, an Amanto training to become the strongest warrior, and he has come to Earth in search of the ultimate weapon worthy of his strength. Meanwhile Gintoki and Shinpachi learn that Kagura has been buying massive amounts of products from the shopping channel, and tells her to return them all. Upset from having all her items confiscated, Kagura comes up with an idea after spotting Gintoki’s wooden sword. It’s just the start of another messy situation... / Part 2: Kagura’s scream stirs up the Odd Jobs office. The cause? A cockroach! Thinking it’s an average cockroach, Gintoki and Shinpachi head out to kill it, only to retreat back on all fours. Why? Because it turns out to be a giant-sized cockroach! Around the same time, the TV reports multiple infestations of giant cockroaches throughout Edo city, and Prince Hata advises NOT to kill these Space Cockroaches, as it will attract more of them. Oblivious to such warnings, the Odd Jobs gang are about to exterminate the giant creature when it starts to scream...
