The city of Ert' Aria is busy with preparations for the festival of the shooting stars, a meteor shower that happens only once every seven years. Carina Verritti arrives early at the house of Clan Oasis, hoping to rouse Leicester Maycroft from his bed, but Leicester is already awake, and must find a way to console her. The two head out to the market where they see a performance by the magician puppeteer Agnes Boulange. Agnes calls Carina out of the crowd to volunteer as her assistant during the performance; afterwords, she joins them for lunch. At the restaurant, all three notice a striking young women marching with the Holy Knights who is later revealed to be Chelsea Arcot, an acquaintance of Leicester's mother, Shelly. Both Agnes and Chelsea agree to join Clan Oasis at the viewing party on the cathedral roof. En route to the cathedral, the party runs into Ritos and Salsa Tortilla, who publicly argue over which will be Leicester's bride, but decline to join the party, claiming to know of a better "higher" viewing spot. Carina and company finally make it to the roof, where they watch the falling meteors. One appears to be heading directly towards them and harmlessly strikes one of the spires. Leicester chases after it, but finds a girl (Minette) lying in bed, who awakens and calls him Papa. || In the city of Ert`Aria lives the young inventor Leicester Maycraft. He is part of a small adventuring clan called Oasis led by Carina Verritti, the daughter of the Archduke who rules over the city. Later that evening there is to be a regular meteor shower that comes once every seven years, and the clan is preparing a party. They meet a young puppeteer named Agnes Boulange who makes an impressive show of her magical automata puppets in the square. They also meet a young knight named Chelsea Arcot and the sisters Ritos and Salsa who run the Tortilla shop in front of their clan hall. The clan holds their little party at the roof of the city`s cathedral, and a great meteor comes their way. It is not a physical meteor, but a cluster of Ale, the magical energy used in that world. It strikes a tower near where they are, and Leicester goes to investigate. In the tower finds a bed where what appears to be a young girl is lying down. When the others reach him, the girl awakens, and calls Leicester `Papa`.

The clan accepts a quest from Carina's father, Grand Duke Fabious. Fabious has detected a dangerously strong concentration of El, the magical substance that brought Minette to life, in his treasure chamber, and wants Oasis to remove it. In the treasure chamber, Chelsea senses the El behind a locked door said to lead to the realm of dragons. Carina uses her magic to unlock the door and the group passes though to a forest where they are immediately attacked by a crystal monster in the form of a dragon. No one, including Ritos and Salsa, who try to steal a march on the group, is able to defeat the monster until Minette, who came along despite Leicester's objections, captures its magic by means of the anima perla. A real dragon in the form of a girl who calls herself Garnet appears and gives Minette a glowing red and yellow sphere in thanks. The episode ends at the beach, where Leicester must think quickly to avoid offending any of the girls when asked to choose which has the prettiest swimsuit. || The young girl calls Leicester "Papa", which scandalises Carina, but it turns out that the girl, named Minette, is actually a highly sophisticated automaton created by Agnes`s mentor, Mize Altowirz, activated by the burst of Ale energy from the meteor, and bonded with him as he was the first person she saw. The next morning, Carina`s father, the Archduke Fabious Verritti, along with Chelsea, comes by and informs them that the meteor shower has caused some trouble in the underground treasury. The Ale energies from the meteor shower may have been absorbed by some of the treasures and created a crystal monster, and he asks the clan to investigate. At the advice of the Archduke they bring Minette along with them. They find the strange energies emanating from a magical door that leads into the dragon world, and they encounter a shadow dragon with a crystal on its head. None of their attacks work, but a strange woman speaks to Minette and tells her to use her powers to ease the dragon`s troubled feelings. She does this, using her Anima Pearl, and the dragon disappears, leaving a jewel in its wake. The strange woman, named Garnet, is actually a dragon and the monster they just fought was her shadow. She gives the jewel to Minette, saying that she can summon her by using it.

Arriving at Oasis house, Carina is taken aback at the sight of Leicester and Agnes engaged in deep conversation. Leicester deflects her inquiry by changing the topic to light-absorbing rainbow flowers, and convinces the clan to undertake a quest in search of some. The group quickly becomes separated in the woods, with Leicester and Carina flying ahead on her staff. Ritos and Salsa intrude once again, but accomplish little. Before the rest of the group can catch up with them, Leicester and Carina battle and defeat a crystal monster hiding in the darkness of the rainbow flowers. Carina flies up to retrieve a crystal left in the tree branches and plummets towards earth when her staff suddenly runs out of power. Leicester attempts to break her fall, but the two become entangled in vines and must remain in an indecent position until rescued by the rest of the group. Back in town, Leicester reveals to Carina that he was consulting with Agnes over how to give Carina's staff the ability to talk, and was told that El must be bonded with strong emotional bonds. Carina and Leicester work through the night attempting to accomplish this, and eventually succeed in creating an outspoken talking staff. || Agnes and Leicester are planning something secretly, and later they propose that the clan take on a quest to recover some rainbow flowers that absorb all the light surrounding them. They grow in a certain forest which is growing darker and more dangerous as they flourish. Carina accepts, and they travel to that forest, and Carina and Leicester use her staff Montecchia to survey the area and tell the rest of the clan where to go. Their aerial survey discovers the spot where the flowers grow, and they direct everyone else where it is, while the two of them investigate ahead. As Carina tries to reach for one of the flowers they are attacked by a crystal monster, and she uses her staff to fly to a safe distance so she can use her magic on it while Leicester tries to fend it off, but she suddenly loses magical energy and falls on top of him, and the two of them are tangled in vines in a compromising position when the rest of the clan arrives and defeats the monster, recovering its crystal. They return to town with the flowers, and Agnes and Leicester say that they wanted to go on the quest so they could obtain a crystal powerful enough for them to modify Montecchia so it can talk. After some false starts Leicester eventually succeeds with Carina`s help.

Agnes strikes out on her own, but after encountering an old favorite patron, returns to enlist the clan in a hunt for bath crystals. Ritos and Salsa hear of the quest, but misunderstanding, assume that the group is making a trip to an onsen. Leicester, Nick, and the girls enter an abandoned mine to search for bath crystals. They find quite a few, and after breaking for lunch, Agnes and Leicester scout on ahead, discovering a mysterious shrine built around a large crystal. Everyone enjoys bathing in the light of the crystal, but an earthquake sends them scurrying for the exits. A rockfall isolates Agnes and Leicester from the rest of the group, forcing them to find their own way out. The clan reunites outside the mine and celebrate their success by giving Ritos and Salsa some of their extra bath crystals. At home, Shelly pulls a prank on Leicester by sending the girls to the bath before he is finished. Agnes and Leicester end up hiding naked in a corner, hoping not to be discovered by the other girls. || The clan is going on another quest from an old woman who is one of Agnes`s most avid fans. They are to obtain a supply of hot spring crystals and go to an abandoned mine to obtain some. While mining these crystals they happen upon a hidden chamber with a large crystal in its centre, which has a complex flow of Ale energy emanating from it. Before they can examine it further the mine experiences subsidence due to the rains, and the ceiling cracks, and they try to get out, but Agnes and Leicester are separated from the others by a cave-in. The two of them manage to find another way out, and see a rainbow at the exit, and rejoin the others. When they return to the clan house, they use the extra hot spring crystals to heat water for the bath, and Leicester is encouraged by his mother Shelley to go ahead. She has however also told the same thing to Agnes and the two of them bump into each other. They hide in a corner while the other girls get inside, and Leicester manages to get away without them realising he was there.

Minette goes shopping, makes a friend, rescues a cat, and loses her skirt. Ritos and Salsa supervise from behind the scenes. Leicester comes to the rescue. Chelsea and Garnet get lost. || Oasis has no quests assigned, but everyone is very busy, so no one is around to play with Minette, except Garnet, who suddenly materialises as she was getting bored in the dragon world. Nina asks Minette to buy the ingredients for the night`s dinner, which she happily does, considering it as her own personal quest for the day. The Tortilla sisters have also been asked to silently watch her and make sure that she is all right. Minette and Garnet go around town trying to collect everything from Nina`s list, and see the various members of Oasis about their duties, Agnes doing her puppet show in the square, Carina at the cathedral, and Chelsea wandering around lost. Garnet leaves to assist Chelsea in getting to her meeting with the knights at the cathedral, and Minette has to get to the butcher`s by herself. Along the way she meets with a girl named Miriam and they quickly become friends, and she shows Minette a short cut to the butcher`s. Along the way they see a cat stuck at the top of a high ledge, and Minette tries to rescue it and falls, but Leicester is there to catch her. They return the cat to its owner, who is grateful. Minette returns to the clan house, without the meat from the butcher`s shop. However, the cat Minette rescued actually belonged to the butcher, so he asked the Tortillas to bring them a premium cut of meat as thanks for saving his pet.

Shadowed by Minette, Leicester admires Chelsea sparring after making a delivery. He invites her to a party hosted by Fabious in honor of the Holy Knights. The girls try on party dresses. Nick and Leicester replace the knights guarding artifacts in the cathedral, and the Tortilla sisters provide security for the party. A crystal monster attacks the party and is defeated by Leicester and Chelsea as the adults gossip upstairs. They are particularly concerned about the increasing concentrations of El and the corresponding rise in the number of crystal monsters. In the end, Chelsea drinks too much and has to be carried home and put to bed by Leicester. || The Archduke has organised a party to honour the Knights for their service to the city. Leicester and Nick have been given guard duty for that night over the artefacts at the cathedral which the Knights are supposed to protect. Leicester sees a great sword known as the Sacred Celestine and feels particularly attracted to it, fascinated in its construction by the ancients. The Tortillas have been given guard duty outside the Archduke`s palace, and as the party is going on, they are attacked by a crystal monster that seems to have the shape of a serpent. It can move so quickly when it attacks that its movements cannot be seen, so much so that no one can hit it. Minette summons Garnet who is sent to call for Leicester at the cathedral, and when he finally arrives he realises that the monster is attracted by light, so he uses a strong crystal-powered lamp to attract it and allow Chelsea to destroy it. How or why the monster could have appeared in the middle of the city is a mystery.

Ritos and Salsa are hired to protect Minette while preparations are made for the Harvest Festival. Their "protection" includes convincing Minette to promote the Tortilla Company in a bikini. Ritos plays multiple tricks on Salsa throughout the episode, but her scheme to set up her sister with Leicester falls through when Salsa refuses to be separated from her twin. || It is the Ert`Aria harvest festival, and to let Minette enjoy herself during the festivities, someone has to accompany her in case Aberdeen strikes again. The Tortilla sisters accompany her through most of the festival, and they see Agnes at her puppet show, Chelsea at the Knights` Cafe, and Carina at the cathedral looking over the artefacts. The Tortillas obtain an item from Leicester they need for the fireworks display that evening. Leicester brings Salsa back to Oasis to obtain an item from Nina, and is invited to join the rest of Oasis to watch the fireworks at the cathedral roof but instead opts to join Ritos to do the fireworks.

Oasis continues to investigate. Miriam collapses while playing with Minette. Garnet, knowing her for an automaton who is no longer human, sends Agnes to help. Agnes says that Miriam will die if she cannot get a new core, and that the only suitable replacement is Minette's anima perla. Aberdeen storms the bedroom where his sister Miriam is resting, only to be confronted by Leicester and company. || Nagan, Leicester`s father, explains about how the meteor shower activity that year is rather unusual, and how the previous shower was similar, and that Altoise had been aware of this and trying to investigate it. The letter she left for Agnes mentioned something called the `Waterwheel of the Heavens`, and how it was related to the mysterious meteor shower activity. Carina and Agnes research this mysterious artefact, but find nothing new. Meanwhile, Minette meets with her friend Miriam again, and she says that she wants to give a present to her cat. Leicester suggests they give it a bell that uses an Ale Crystal. The two of them help Leicester make these bells, but as they are finishing Miriam collapses just as a meteor shower falls on the city. It is seen that Miriam is an automaton, and Aberdeen`s sister. He arrives with Avril to take her home.

Aberdeen takes Miriam back, but not before she protests that Minette should not be sacrificed for her sake. As Miriam fades, Minette lives life to the fullest. That night, Minette runs away from home after bidding Leicester good night. Shelly catches up with her on the cathedral roof, and lets Minette cry in her arms but does not stop her. The episode ends as Leicester notices that Minette is gone and rushes out in search of her. || Before leaving, Aberdeen says that he wants the Minette`s core, the Anima Pearl, to save Miriam, whose own automaton core is being badly affected by the instability of Ale flow in the world. This leaves Minette conflicted, as she wants to save Minette but her own passing would leave many unhappy, Miriam first of all. Oasis then goes about attempting to find Aberdeen and protect Minette from him, while at the research into the Ale instability left to the Tortilla sisters, who find that the strange phenomena are concentrated around the old mine where they had found the chamber with the large crystal. That evening, Minette resolves to give herself up to Aberdeen to save Miriam, leaving the bells they had made with Leicester at everyone`s door. She meets Shelley at the Cathedral who speaks to her briefly about her decision. Leicester awakens and realises that Minette has left, and he goes to find her.

Aberdeen brings Minette to Miriam's bedside and gets ready to transfer the core, but Carina magically locates them before he can finish. Carina battles Avril while Leicester fights Aberdeen. Avril and Aberdeen possess mighty battle artifacts and cannot be defeated, but Leicester and Carina are also strong. A particularly large flash draws Minette out from the house: when she sees Leicester and Aberdeen fighting, she interposes herself. Miriam follows and begs everyone to work together and find a way for both of them to live. Leicester and Aberdeen agree to do so, but Garnet suddenly appears calling everyone back to town. The unregulated flow of El is reaching a crisis point and everyone must work together to save the world. || Leicester and the rest of Oasis search the city to try to find Minette. Carina and Leicester are the first to find Aberdeen`s home. They are attacked by Avril, but Carina uses a spell to send Leicester ahead to the house while she fights Avril. He confronts Aberdeen and they do battle, and after Leicester makes his weapon produce an explosion that sends both of them reeling convinces him that there has to be another way, a way to save Miriam without needing to sacrifice Minette. The Tortilla sisters return to Ert`Aria to report their findings to Oasis, of how there was a great explosion of light at the mountain and many crystal monsters suddenly appeared and began to attack. The Waterwheel of the Heavens must be nearby they reason, and they realise that if something is not done soon to stabilise the flow of Ale there will be a cataclysm of apocalyptic proportions. Oasis, Aberdeen, and Avril make their way there while the Tortillas remain to help the Archduke and Nagan to defend the city from the approaching wave of crystal monsters.

Leicester and company go off to fix the unregulated El. Ritos and Salsa guard the home front, Avril and Aberdeen fight a rearguard action, Nick and Garnet keep the stairs clear, Carina, Chelsea and Agnes watch Leicester's back. Altworth releases the artifact, ending the creation of crystal monsters but exposing Leicester to its full flow. With Minette's help, the artifact is restored. Nina prepares for a party. || Oasis and Aberdeen and Avril arrive at the mine, and are attacked by a horde of crystal monsters. Aberdeen and Avril remain nearby to repel as many of the monsters as they can as Oasis goes ahead. They appear before a great tower where the Waterwheel of the Heavens is. They are attacked by yet more monsters as they ascend the tower, so Nick and Garnet remain behind to keep the monsters from following. They arrive at the top of the tower and see the Waterwheel of the Heavens, and see Mise Altoise in its centre. She tells them to leave, but they refuse, saying that they came all that way to attempt to repair the Waterwheel, but she tells them that it is impossible, as it was built with lost technology that no one today understands, and any mistake in attempting to repair it could lead to the permanent disappearance of the Ale energy in the whole world, and along with it everything that depends on it, such as automata like Minette and Miriam. Altoise says that they can try, but to do that will require to relinquish her hold on the Waterwheel and cause the Ale to go even more unstable until they can repair it. Leicester and Minette go to work on repairing the Waterwheel while the rest of Oasis attempts to prevent the unstable Ale, which takes the form of serpentine monsters, from interfering with them. Against all odds they manage to succeed, and the resulting stabilisation of the Ale flow in the world causes most of the crystal monsters to stop attacking, and leads to Miriam`s eventual recovery.
