One night right before summer vacation, Daichi Manatsu, a second-year in high school, sees a weird round rainbow floating in the sky above Seed Island (Shuushi/Tane Island) and ventures there alone. He has seen this rainbow before. With the memories of his father's mysterious death and an encounter of a mysterious boy and girl, Daiji arrives on the island while the alarm of a building labeled "Earth Engine" is going off. Someone asks him "Are you a captain?" just as robotic intruders from Uranus called "Kiltgang" arrive. The battle around the shining stars is about to begin. || Daichi Manatsu sees a rainbow circle on TV that reminds him of when he was young. On the first day of summer vacation, he goes to Tanegashima Island meets a mysterious girl named Ariel and a giant robot named the Earth Engine deep below the ground. Source: crunchyroll

Daichi was successful to unite the Earth Engine Impactor base formation. With a mysterious girl claiming to be "magical girl", he repel the Kil-T-Gang Morukin. Daichi's father was a Globe member once, he came back to the earth, knowing that it's organization protecting the earth from the invasion of aliens. || Daichi completes the transformation of the Earth Engine, and with the help of a girl who calls herslef a Magical Girl he defeats the Kiltgang Molekin. Yomatsuri Akari who is the only daughter of the Globe commander - Nishikubo - applied to the new team, they're enjoying the full summer of Tanegashima. In front of such four, a new enemy -Amarok- appears. Plateau with shaking off the restraint of Nishikubo, || Akari Yomatsuri, daughter of the Globe commander Nishikubo, joins the team, and everyone enjoys a summer rest in Akihabara. Unveiling Teppei Arashi's origin. || There are two factions divided over how to deal with the Kiltgang: the interception faction that wants to fight them and the ark faction that wants to send out a new humanity to escape. The Kivotos Plan began to reveal it's true meaning upon the Globe member. || Tippei`s "father" has gone missing after the incident on the Tenkaidou. The "ark" faction seeks to allow a few chosen people to escape from Earth to avoid the Kiltgang. They try to steal Hana, because she is the key to their plans. The promise of the four to finally having melon for the summer hot day. || Just like Hana predicted, the Kiltgang appear inside defensive zone 1. Daichi is pinned between them and almost defeated, but Teppei and his Kiltgang Albion save him. Teppei destroys his own ego block, and with his help, Amarock and Moko are defeated. After failing to attack Earth by themselves, Amara and Moco decide to awaken the other members of their race that are scattered to assist them. The first member they contact is Zin, the avatar of the robot Zimbalt and to confront him, Globe dispatches their newest unit composed of Daichi and his friends, the "Midsummer's Knights". || There are five other designer children besides Teppei. To stop one of them, Jin, from awakening, the Midsummer Knights go to Odaiba, where he is working as a dealer. "In the end, I can never hold anything in my hand," he says. Isolated from his friends, he regrets the choices he`s made in life. Just then Amarock and Moko appear. Moko`s kiss awakens him to his full power as a planetary gear, and he smiles an evil smile. Ai, the avatar of the robot Aiatar is the second Design Child contacted by Amara and Moco, and to increase their chances of success, they kidnap Akari and force her to infiltrate mankind's orbital defense systems while Daichi confronts Ai with serious disadvantages. || The fifth member of the Planetary Gears is the idol Ai. She and her Machine Goodfellow Hebihanabi are a fierce match for Daichi`s group. Meanwhile, Amarock kidnaps Akari to make her use her hacking to shut off all the low orbit impactors. Amara and Moco awaken Lin, the third of their companions and the Avatar of the Kill-T-Gang Liebam. Daichi confronts Lin and defeats her, but fails to prevent her from summoning Liebam and it's up to Teppei to stop her, piloting his own machine, the "Nebula Engine". || Rin loves speed more than anything. When she awakens as a Planetary Gear, she challenges Daichi to a battle in the Ningyohime. He succeeds in destroying her libido capsule, but allows the Abreaction to occur at the last second. Akari and Hana befriend a young girl called Setsuna, unaware that she is one of the missing Design Children. Amara and Moco attempt to contact Setsuna, but stumble into a confrontation with Daichi and Teppei instead, while Setsuna learns the shocking truth behind the experiments made on her by her caretaker. || Setsuna is one of the six designer children. She lives with Mao Marimura, one of the staff at Ayingott Company. Marimura is planning to use her to stay young forever. The Midsummer's Knights infiltrate an underground ring in search for Baku, the last of the missing Design Children, who is being forced to fight illegal matches for the Yakuza. Amara breaks into the ring and confronts Baku in an attempt to have him remember his past, but is surprised when he refuses. However, neither Amara nor his other companions intend to give up so easily on drawing him back to their side. || The identity of the last designer child has been found. It`s Baku, a boy who works at an illegal fighting ring run by the Asanoda yakuza. Rita sends Daichi to find him. Meanwhile, Amara and Moko also visit the underground tournament. Source: crunchyroll

Baku refuses to join the other Planetary Gears out of his attachment to Kumiko, the daughter of the local Yakuza. But this changes when the truth about Kumiko comes to surface and Baku decides to take revenge on Earth by helping destroy it. || Baku is in love with the only daughter of the leader of the Asanoda Yakuza, Kumiko. Amara takes her hostage and tries to convince him to join them. Haruhiko, a member of the Asanoda gang arrives, and his bullet strikes Kumiko. But her wound disappears almost instantly. With no missions to perform in the next days, Daichi and his friends are given a few days of R&R. In the occasion, Hana reveals that she loves Daichi, but fears what he may think of her if she reveals her true self to him. Meanwhile, Amara and Moco take control of a massive asteroid and drop it on Southern Japan with the intention of destroying the Tanegashima Base. || The crew takes a break at a resort hotel, at Akari`s suggestion. That night Daichi sees Hana weeping in his room. Meanwhile, the Planetary Gears are planning to drop the satellite Legacy on Earth. Running away from her friends, Hana meets Setsuna again, and the two end up pursued by Amara and Moco, while Puck, the AI built by Macbeth Enterprises, lays a trap to the CEO and snatches his body. Once Daichi and Hana finally reunite, he reconciles with her, just before the Planetary Gears attack them. || Hana runs away, and encounters the queen of the Planetary Gears, Setsuna, by chance. The two of them feel a strange sympathy. But Amarock and Moko appear, and Setsuna, who regains her memories by a telepathic kiss, orders them to capture her. Now finally assembled, the Planetary Gears get the full support of Macbeth Enterprises in their endeavors, unaware of Puck's true intentions. Meanwhile, with Daichi and Teppei still recovering from the last battle, Hana pilots her own machine, the "Flare Engine" to counter another enemy attack. || The forces within Globe begin to panic after Hana activates the Blume. Nishikubo tells Daichi about the plan to take out the Planetary Gears` fortress carrier Oberon, operation Summer. All members of the Plantary Gears gather, and plan their next move. An inspector from Salty Dog arrives at the Tanegashima Base and questions the merits of the Midsummer's Knights so far. Meanwhile, Moco and Zin launch another attack on Earth, and with Hana's Engine still under repairs, Daichi and Teppei are dispatched to stop them. Salty Dog sends their new remote controlled interceptors to the fight as well, but Daichi and Teppei get themselves in a pinch when Moco takes control of the machines to fight for her. || A new observer, Nio Andou, arrives at Tanegashima base. And at the same time, the Kiltgangs Molekin and Zimbardo appear. They steal control of a new type of interceptor used by the Ark Faction, and use it to attack the Midsummers Knights. Daichi, Hana and Teppei board a shuttle to return to Earth, but during reentry, an unexpected change of course leaves them stranded in the middle of Australia. Knowing that they were victims of sabotage, the three battle some enemy forces in the middle of the desert in order to protect Hana from being captured by them. || The Ark Faction tries to steal Hana, as she is the only one capable of operating the spaceship Blume. They make their attack when she returns from the Tenkaidou. The Midsummers Knights set down in Austarlia where they are attacked by Salty Dog tanks. After hijacking a transport to return home, Daichi and the others are pursued by an unmanned Impacter from Salty Dog, who is determined to capture Hana at all costs for the sake of their plans, but seeing her friends in danger, she takes a drastic measure to save them. || While Akari hacks central command, the others steal a large shuttlecraft from Sydney base. The three of them escape Australia, but the Ark Faction`s ultimate weapon, the Saramar Engine, chases after them. Just when it seems like it`s all over, the Blume appears from the sea. Hana is kidnapped by Salty Dog, but Daichi and the others are too busy dealing with a shower of debris that threaten the space station. When Teppei's impacter is damaged and unable to move, Daichi is forced to choose between sacrificing his friend or allow the Tenkaido to be destroyed. || Hana has been taken hostage by Hiroesue. And at the same time, Ai, one of the Planetary Gears, takes control of the debris in orbit and uses it to attack the Tenkaidou. After averting the previous crisis, Daichi and the others are ready to begin the Operation Summer, but Salty Dog activates their most powerful weapon in order to stop them. Meanwhile, the Planetary Gears succeed to gather enough energy to launch a full scale attack. || "We will now begin Operation Summer!" With Daichi`s words, the Blume takes off for Uranus and the fortress carrier Oberon. But the Garm Engine, the Ark Faction`s final weapon, is there to stop them.
