In 2007, after the Great Hinamizawa Disaster, Akasaka and Oishi return to the ruined village, and reflect on the events that happened twenty-four years before. || In the year 2007, Mamoru Asakasa returns to a Hinamizawa decimated by the gas leak that killed nearly the entire populace.

2. Awakening Misfortune Chapter Part 1: Playing Tag
The gang plays a game of "zombie tag" at school, and on the way home, Keiichi learns of Oyashiro-sama's curse and the mysterious Hinamizawa serial murders. || In another iteration of 1983, Keiichi once more learns about Oyashiro’s Curse from Tomitake and Takano, this time also with Irie. Rika worries as the festival approaches.

3. Awakening Misfortune Chapter Part 2: Powerless
The gang goes to visit the festival site during the preparations and later participates in a baseball game. Meanwhile, Satoko worries about Rika's depression and tries to confront her about it. || Satoko tries to get Rika out of her depression, but her friend won’t admit her fears. That night, Rika argues with a mysterious voice regarding her fate.

4. Awakening Misfortune Chapter Part 3: Pre-established Harmony
During the Cotton Drifting Festival, the gang's club activities consist of eating contests and watching Rika's dance. After the festival, Satoko becomes convinced that she and Rika are being watched. || The day of the festival dawns, and Satoko is paranoid that she and Rika are being followed. Is she right?

5. Awakening Misfortune Chapter Part 4: The Great Hinamizawa Disaster
As mysterious men storm the Furude house, Satoko manages to hide, but Rika refuses to join her. When Satoko leaves her hiding place, she discovers many horrifying sights in the once peaceful village of Hinamizawa. || Satoko flees in terror and has an accident. Injured, she witnesses the Great Hinamizawa Disaster, which sends her into shock.

6. Massacre Chapter Part 1: Maze`s Law
Rika begins a new world, but is getting tired of the same events repeating themselves. However, Keiichi proves to her that fate isn't always set in stone. || A new world comes with the possibility for changing fate. Keiichi may just prove it as he makes a different choice that has multiple effects.

8. Massacre Chapter Part 3: Fluctuation
Rika's plans are hindered by the appearance of Satoko's abusive uncle, Teppei, and she starts to lose her newfound faith. Keiichi and the rest of the gang decide to find a way to release Satoko from the clutches of her uncle. || Teppei’s appearance may throw everything into disarray as he begins to abuse Satoko again. The group tries to find a way to help her.

9. Massacre Chapter Part 4: Negotiation
The fight to save Satoko from her uncle continues as the gang tries to appeal to the Child Counseling Center, first alone, and then they gather the whole class. But will it be enough? || Despite Satoko’s reluctance to help because of Teppei’s particular blackmail, her friends continue to fight for her freedom.

11. Massacre Chapter Part 6: Strong Will
The efforts to rescue Satoko reach a conclusion, and with the Cotton Drifting Festival the next day, everything seems to moving in the direction of a happy ending — until the true culprit finally comes forth. || The group finally gets Satoko to reveal her abuse and the police step in. As the festival begins, Rika tries to save Tomitake and Takano, only to discover the true culprit.

13. Massacre Chapter Part 8: Closure
The enemy closes in on the Furude house, and the gang comes to Rika's aid. As they fight the attackers, they realize that if everyone stands together and believes, they can indeed fight fate. But, does everyone truly believe? || Rika and Hanyuu discuss Rika’s fate, and subsequently the fate of the village, only to conclude that Hanyuu must also desire an end to the cycle.

Irie, Kasai, and Shion head to the clinic to rescue Tomitake, and Irie finally reveals the truth about Satoshi's disappearance to Shion. Elsewhere, the gang battles the Yamainu in the mountains. || The Yamainu close in on the Sonozaki estate, and a small group tries to rescue Tomitake with a slim chance of success.

24. Festival Accompanying Chapter Part 11: End
The Yamainu concede defeat, but Takano refuses to surrender. As she flees into the mountains, she has a final, emotional confrontation with Rika's group. At last, Rika and all of her friends are able to attend the Cotton Drifting Festival, finally free from fate. || Akasaka and Tomitake call on the Benken combat unit to detain Takano and the Yamainu. Unwilling to give in, Takano flees into the mountains, only to meet Rika and her friends.
