Maria is a powerful young witch living with her two familiars in medieval France during the Hundred Years' War against England. As the war rages on and the innocent get caught in its destruction, Maria becomes fed up with the situation and begins using her magic to try and prevent further conflict in hopes of maintaining peace. However, her constant intervention soon attracts the attention of the heavens, and the archangel Michael is sent to keep her from meddling in human affairs. The divine being confronts Maria, and he forbids her from using her powers, issuing a decree that her magic will be taken if she loses her virginity. Though she is now labeled a heretic, Maria adamantly refuses to heed Michael's warning and continues to disrupt the war between the two nations. Warring continues, and Maria decides to enlist new help, but her actions to help dissolve conflict have now attracted attention from the heavens.
3. By Faith, Not Arms
By Michael's words, Maria will lose her powers upon losing her virginity. With Ezekiel now in watch, a new figure decides to approach Maria.
4. Remember Death
A new witch appears in front of Maria, imparting a different view onto her situation. Meanwhile, Ezekiel ponders over Maria and her actions.
5. Courage, Prudence
While Bernard works on his agenda, Joseph consults Maria in concern for Galfa's well-being. This brings more thoughts to Maria of her actions.
6. Under the Rose
Those in opposition to Maria weigh their options, while a meeting with Joseph makes Maria question her next move when a huge battle breaks out.
7. The War Will Feed Itself
Despite orders by Michael to kill Maria should she uses her magic in front of the people again, Ezekiel barely avoids fatally wounding her instead. Meanwhile, Garfa, who lost an arm during the battle and blames Maria for it and swears revenge on her, is assisted by the church who views Maria as a hindrance.
8. Man Is a Wolf to Man
Rumors abound with Maria being faulted for the casualties of war. Bernard continues his agenda, and now approaches Ann's village to speak with Martha.
9. With a Grain of Salt
Thanks to Bernard's machinations Maria is captured and imprisoned by the church. Realizing that she still has not lost her virginity or powers, her friends join forces to rescue her as the English prepare another attack.
10. I Hate and I Love
Maria’s friends go all out to save her before she is sentenced. Meanwhile, Joseph’s return to battle leads to an encounter with Galfa.
11. If You Wish to be Loved, Love
Joseph and Galfa face each other in a bitter duel. Maria finally arrives on scene and what follows is something not even she could have expected.
12. Love Conquers All
Amid a tense showdown against Archangel Michael, the final judgment of Maria’s actions is passed and her ultimate fate revealed.
