Following the events of Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori, Ai Enma, the Hell Girl, has disappeared. Her former companions decide to lead normal lives, until their absent mistress returns to them with a new companion, and in a way that none of them anticipated. Yuzuki Mikage is a normal schoolgirl who soon comes to understand the Hell Girl on an intimate level. During a dream-like trance in the bathtub, Ai kisses Yuzuki and possesses her. So when Yuzuki's friend decides to type in the name of their teacher in the Hell Correspondence website, Ai makes use of Yuzuki's body to accomplish her own task of ferrying the teacher's soul to hell. Yuzuki is disturbed by her new circumstances and wonders why she was chosen to continue Ai's work. Unfortunately for her, the Hell Girl and her assistants resume operation of Hell Correspondence, and she is dragged along for the ride towards hell itself. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Since Ai's death, her companions have gone their separate ways. But Kikuri announces her return, and they gather as faculty and staff at a school.

2. A Bird in a Cage
Yuzuki is still disturbed by her encounter with Ai. Meanwhile, a middle school girl has developed a crush on a middle-aged shopkeeper -- and a grudge against her abusive husband.

3. Rotten Fruit
Aspiring singers at the same talent agency, Jun bullied Masako until she gave up on her dream. After Jun becomes a pop idol, Masako demands that Jun support her own debut as a singer. Jun refuses. Enraged, Masako accesses the Hell Correspondence website, receiving Hone Onna as doll.

4. Big Brother
When the bullied Yukawa is rescued by the kendo-practitioner, Nishida Shin, Nishada becomes Yukawa’s hero. However, he fails to save a man assaulted on a bus, and Yukawa's image of his hero is shattered. He accesses the Hell Correspondence website, receiving Ren as a doll, to send Nishida to Hell.

5. This Mundane World
A student's grandmother begins a vendetta against Mio, her teacher, for a supposed slight against her granddaughter Ririka. When Ririka refuses to comes to Mio's defense, Mio access the Hell Hotline.

6. My Teacher
A group of students infatuated with Hone Onna compete with one another for her affections. The competition turns ugly, and one of the students accesses the Hell Hotline.

7. Liar
Inuo’s father left his mother and, ashamed, the two left Tokyo. Inuo lies about the situation at his new school but confides in a friend, Washizu – which incurs his mother’s wrath. Washizu spreads the truth and tries to motivate him to seek help; it only motivates Inuo to contact the Hell Hotline.

8. Next Door
Yuzuki rescues a lost dog, and a neighbor of the owner, enraged that the bracelet she prizes turns out to be a dog collar also worn by the dog, tries everything in her power to get rid of Hatsumi’s dog – including poisoning it. Hatsumi can no longer take it and accesses the Hell Hotline.

9. Lost Inari
A low-profile girl named Inao Kaede claims to be a fortune-teller. At the sign of her continued success, a female student named Nishino apologizes to Inao for previously making fun of her fortune telling and requests she kill a college student who she claims is stalking her every day.

10. The Goldfish in the Mirror
A boy named Ichimura Kazuya is a marathon runner. He does the morning rounds of newspaper in order to support his mother’s habit of buying kimonos from a charming salesperson. His parents are constantly fighting, so his mother uses money (she believes they are from the husband) to buy kimonos. Kazuya’s hatred for the salesperson drives him to the Hell Hotline.

11. The Blotted Page
Kamisaka Rokurou is a novelist whose mystery genre book, The Skyscraper's Shadow, has gotten publicity because of strange incidents resembling its plot. The first victim's older sister, Michio Yui, meets with Kamisaka and the murderer, Chouchi Hiroto, to see which one of them is to blame. She intends to send one of them to Hell.

12. Mid-Summer Graph
Nomura Nobuo is a struggling manga artist who works part-time at a food store beside the pool. Every time someone agitates him, he draws stickers for them and puts their face up on his calendar chart. The person who reaches the girl's breasts first will be sent to hell.

13. The Six-Script Lantern
Azusa Mayama feels that chief of investigation, Norihisa who is Akie's father, halted investigation on an automotive accident involving her father and a son of the prestigious Tsujinobashi family, reporting it as an accident to prevent the truth from being known. In order to get revenge, she befriends Akie, intending to betray her.

14. Street Corner of Malice
Convenience store worker Tsuzuki Kinya offers to take care of Kashiwagi Hidemi after she misses the last train home. As they are walking together, someone takes a picture of them and posts it online. Because Tsuzuki looks like a delinquent the people around Kashiwagi become suspicious. Kashiwagi will send the person who uploaded the picture to Hell for giving her a bad reputation.

15. The Rabbit and Tortoise
Shinohara Usagi, nicknamed 'tortoise', is a schoolgirl who is always being helped by her friends because she is so slow at making any kind of decision. One day, a boy named Endo asks her to date him inspiring glowers of jealously from her friends. However, out of jealousy, her brother Michito forces him to break up with her. The sibling rivalry forces Usagi to contact the Hell Hotline.

16. Trap of Temptation
Naowa sends a coworker to hell because of his suspicious behavior.

17. Inside the Straw
Yuzuki visits a mansion to visit the elderly woman she saw in her vision. However, a much younger woman comes to the door and claims that there is no one in the house who fits the description. Meanwhile, Yamawaro begs to be a doll.

18. Special Radio
Chiriko has fallen in love with the radio show "Midnight Silence" DJ Joutarou, who often reads her letters on-air. She is approached by a girl named Haname who claims to be another well-known mail sender. The two quickly become friends. But Haname understands the DJ is just a persona, not reality – and showing the reality to Chiriko causes her to react badly and contact the Hell Hotline.

19. Snow, Moon, Flowers
Kaori has a sister who is the product of her father's affair with another woman. When the love child shows up and demands to be made part of the family, Kaori's friend discovers that she also has plans to murder Kaori for her share of inheritance.

20. Hell Doctor vs. Hell Girl
Yamawaro and Kikuri approach a large mansion belonging to a client but are unable to enter due to an encircling barrier. At night, the owner of that mansion accesses the Hell Correspondence website and types Tsugumi's name. Each sensing the request, Yuzuki, Ai, and Tsugumi make their ways towards the mansion. Once they gather, he explains that he yearned to meet Ai.

21. Right in Front Behind You
Kaito accesses the Hell Correspondence website to send his unborn sister to Hell.

22. Flower and Moon
Sumika is the twin sister of the famous actress and model, Yuika. Despite Yuika's upbeat facade, she is a cruel and spiteful person who forces her twin sister to do all her own work while acquiring all that Sumika desires: fame and love. When the two switch roles, one of the sisters will access the Hell Hotline.

23. Twilight Hills
Fumio Mizuhara is constantly bullied by Tomohide Matsuda whose little sister is inquiring about the whereabouts of their father. Fumio later discovers the Hell brand on Tomohide's chest and deduces that he has sent his abusive father to Hell.

24. Mayfly
Yuzuki realizes that nobody at school or in her neighborhood knows who she is. Tsugumi has given up hope of stopping the Jigoku and concludes that Yuzuki is not a person of this world anymore. Tsugumi notices that all this time,Yuzuki's life was an illusion.When Yuzuki returns home, she finds her apartment in derelict state and makes a horrifying discovery in the ruins.

25. Yuzuki
Yuzuki lived happily with her parents, until her father, a bus driver, died in a bus crash due to faulty brakes. The whole town accused the Mikage family of murder and being irresponsible. Sick and without means to support herself she decides to leave.

26. Spiritual Locus
Takasugi wants to send Azusa to hell because she took away Akie's life. Yuzuki was eager in awaiting Takasugi to pull the string, but Takasugi backed out, saying Azusa would go to hell after she dies anyway. Angry at this, Yuzuki decides to send Azusa to hell anyway.
