Description

After a certain mishap, the brilliant but socially inept engineer Apare Sorano and the shrewd but cowardly samurai Kosame Isshiki find themselves drifting on a boat from Japan to America. Broke, the two decide to compete in the Trans-America Wild Race to win the prize and return to Japan. The two battle crazy rivals, outlaws, and the great outdoors itself as they race through the wild West from the starting line in Los Angeles to the finish line in New York - in the steam-powered car they built.<br><br>(Source: Anime News Network)<br><br><i>The first two episodes pre-aired on select platforms starting from March 21st. 1. Sunny [Appare], with Occasional Showers [Kosame]

At the end of the 19th century, mechanical engineer Appare is thrown in jail for upsetting one of the town's elite, who then also appoints young swordsman Kosame to keep an eye on him. But Kosame finds keeping Appare out of trouble to be a challenge.

2. In the Dark

Stranded in Los Angeles, Appare and Kosame must find work in order to survive, but their options are limited. The pair learn of a trans-continental auto race being held soon, and Appare sets his mind to winning it, while Kosame is anxious to get home.

3. Duel

Appare and Kosame take in Hototo and dress his injuries. Al Lyon, representing the BNW motor company, arrives in Los Angeles and wants to rent the storehouse that the pair are staying in, so Appare proposes that they race for it.

4. Let It Go

Wanting to prove that women can be capable racers, Xialian challenges her team's official driver, David, to a race. However, not wanting to risk one of his vehicles on some silly race, the owner makes Xialian drive a big hunk of junk.

5. The Eve, And...

After days of working nonstop, Appare is out like a light and Kosame has to drag him to the big celebration on the eve of the race. Nearly kicked out for violating the dress code, they chow down just before all hell breaks loose at the party.
