Nanoha Takamachi, an ordinary third-grader who enjoys spending time with her family and friends, rescues an injured ferret that she had dreamed about the night before. The next day, the ferret cries out to her telepathically, asking Nanoha to save him. The ferret reveals himself to be Yuuno Scrya, a mage from another world who is trying to collect the dangerous 21 Jewel Seeds that he accidentally scattered across the world. He enlists Nanoha's help, gifting her the magical wand Raising Heart, and teaches her how to become a powerful mage. Days later, after reclaiming a few of the Jewel Seeds, another mage appears: Fate Testarossa. Stronger than Nanoha, Fate refuses to divulge her reasons in trying to collect the Jewel Seeds. Nanoha senses a melancholy in her eyes, but Fate refuses to communicate. Directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha is a story about the clash of emotions when goals collide. 1. Episode 1
When Takamachi Nanoha, a 3rd grader elementary school girl, finds a wounded ferret and takes care of it she finds out she has magical powers and helps it fight a monster that attacked it.
2. Episode 2
After Nanoha transformed into a magical girl she and Yuuno fight the Jewel Seed and win. Yuuno tells Nanoha about him, the Jewel Seeds and her new magical powers when a new Jewel Seed appears and they go fight it.
3. Episode 3
Nanoha is exhausted from living her life as a normal girl during the day, and her magical girl life at night, but she has managed to get five Jewel Seeds. When a boy on her father's soccer team activates a Jewel Seed, it is up to Nanoha to save the town.
4. Episode 4
Suzaka invites Nanoha and Arisa over for a tea party. However, it is interupted for Nanoha when a jewel seed is activated. A mysterious black mage girl comes to claim the Jewel Seed, is she friend or foe?
5. Episode 5
Fate and her familiar Arf challenge Nanoha at a hot spring.
6. Episode 6
Arisa suspects that Nanoha is hiding something.
7. Episode 7
Fate's mother, the real villain, is revealed just as the Time-Space Administration Bureau arrives.
8. Episode 8
Nanoha joins with the Time-Space Administration Bureau. Yūno reveals his human form to Nanoha.
9. Episode 9
Nanoha ignores orders and tries to help Fate.
10. Episode 10
Arf is thrown out by Precia and joins Nanoha. Nanoha visits her friends and family, and sorts everything out.
11. Episode 11
Nanoha and Fate battle for all the Jewel Seeds, and Fate's origin is revealed.
12. Episode 12
In the final battle, the TSAB march on the Garden of Time.
13. Episode 13
Nanoha and Yūno say their farewells to the TSAB and they both head home.
